Abstract
The universal joint transmits torque between first and second shafts and carrying a joint body. Bearing members at an acute angle to the first body have coupling members sliding and rotating on them and working in grooves in the second body at a second acute angle to the second shaft. Between the first shaft (12) and the ends of the bearing members (20) furthest from the first body (16) a torque-transmitting component (50) extends. It exerts torque on the further ends (23) of these members. The bearing members are pins and the coupling members are formed spherical (40) on the outside to engage in grooves (28) in the second body (19).
