1300126 Laminated products Y ICHINOSE 1 Oct 1970 46761/70 Heading B5N [Also in Division B6] A multi-colour imprint is made on a soft transparent or translucent plastics film by forming a printable layer comprising an inorganic mineral powder and an organic binder on a supporting member having sufficient strength to resist tensile stresses applied to it during the printing process, forming a layer of multicolour imprint on the printable layer by a colour printing technique, bonding the plastics film to the layer of imprint by means of a transparent bonding agent and peeling the supporting member from the printable layer. The plastics film may be of P.V.C. or polyethylene and the bonding agent may be transparent polyvinyl acetate. The printable layer may comprise an inorganic white powder such as gypsum or talc, a binder such as melamine resin or casein and, optionally, a pigment or aluminium powder. The supporting member may be paper, metal foil or leaf or P.V.C. sheet and may carry a peeling-facilitating layer of silicon resin. The printing may be effected by the gravure or offset processes and the ink used may be fluorescent. The non- bonded surface of the plastics film may be mechanically or chemically treated to produce an uneven pattern thereon, which pattern may be complementary to the pattern of the imprint.
