Abstract

1299320 Spray carburetters; fluid logic and switching circuits G NARDI 16 June 1970 [16 June 1969] 29176/70 Headings F1B and F1P The flow of fuel to a nozzle 19 opening to the carburetter induction passage 20 is controlled by a fluidic amplifier 10 in accordance with the pressure difference applied through the passages 27 and 30. An air throttle valve 34 which opens in proportion to the induction passage air-flow is located between the connections of the passages 27, 30 to the induction passage 20 and is connected to a valve member 39 which controls the connection of a passage 38, communicating with the passage 30, to atmosphere to modify the pressure difference applied to the amplifier 10. Fuel is supplied to the inlet 16 of the amplifier by a pump 12 and the pressure difference between the ports 25 and 26 determines the quantity diverted through the port 17 to the nozzle 19. The undiverted fuel flows through a port 21 to an idling fuel passage 24 or returns to the reservoir 11. Air is supplied through a passage 33 to the nozzle 19. The valve member 39 has a blind central bore communicating through ports (42), Fig.2 (not shown), with a peripheral groove which moves relative to the inlet (44) of the passage 38. The amplifier 10 may comprise a grooved plate, Fig.4 (not shown) secured to the carburetter body.
