Abstract

1297564 Road traffic signals on vehicles TRW Inc 13 Feb 1970 [17 Feb 1969] 7070/70 Heading G4Q A flasher device for an automobile comprises a relay 11 having an armature 13 connectible to two separate normally closed contacts 14, 15 and one normally open contact 16, a relay winding 17 which when energized moves the armature to break, contact with 14, 15 and make contact with 16, a positive voltage terminal 18, a normally closed load terminal 19, a normally open load terminal 20, a resistor 22 and condenser 23 in series between terminals 14 and 16, and a thermistor 24 in series with the relay winding 17 and across the condenser. The device may be connected, Fig. 2 (not shown), to automobile lamps to effect turn signals, hazard warning signals, and alternating warning signals. When the ignition key is left in the ignition lock and the automobile door is open, current flows from terminal 45 to earth at 33 to produce an audible buzzing by mechanical oscillation of the armature 13.
