1377763 Automotive vehicle alarms DWELSAFE ALARMS Ltd 4 Aug 1972 [7 Aug 1971] 37189/71 Heading G4N [Also in Division F1] An automotive vehicle alarm comprises a relay A having one set of contacts A 2 connected via a flasher unit 3 to a horn connected terminal 2, an over-ride switch 5 which when closed connects the relay coil to a battery terminal 1 as well as earthing an ignition coil connector terminal 6, courtesy light terminals 4, 4a across which a second set of relay, contacts A 1 are connected to form a relay hold circuit, the relay being actuated via the courtesy light terminals to close the relay contacts. In operation, the courtesy light switch is closed by the unauthorized opening of a door thus activating the relay A and the horn will sound intermittently due to its connection via the flasher unit. Also as the relay contacts A 1 are now closed, the alarm is operative even when the door is closed once again. A thermoelectric switch 7 is provided for terminating and resetting the alarm after a predetermined time. The earthing of the ignition coil connector terminal by the switch 5 also disables the engine.
