Abstract

1296508 Clutch control DAIMLER-BENZ AG 22 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29217/71 Headings F2K and F2L A clutch pedal assister spring 22 is connected between a lug 19 on the clutch pedal 10 and a tension rod 29 which is pivotally connected to one end of a lever 27 which pivots about a rod 30 and acts at its opposite end on the end of the clutch pedal 10. In the clutch engaged position, as shown, the spring 22 opposes clutch disengaging movement of the pedal 10 by direct action and additionally through the lever 27 acting on the end of the pedal 10. On depression of the pedal 10 the spring 22 passes over a dead centre line through the pedal pivot 14 and thereafter assists foot pressure to release the clutch both by direct action and through the lever 27. The initial tension in the spring 22 may be adjusted by nuts 25 on the tension rod 29. In the clutch engaged position the pedal 10 abuts a stop 18. The pedal 10 actuates the clutch through linkwork 15, 16.
