Abstract

1296128 Tip up seats ANONIMA CASTELLI SAS 9 April 1970 [23 May 1969] 16873/70 Heading A4B A tip-up seat has a seat frame 2 pivotally mounted on a support 5 for rotation about a fixed axis 7 and a backrest frame 1 pivotally mounted on the seat frame 2 for rotation about a displaceable axis 8 between an upright folded position and a rearwardly inclined sitting position, the axis 8 being displaceable about the fixed axis 7. Tipping of the seat frame causes the curved surface 12a of the seat frame to slide over a complimentary curved surface 10a on the support until lugs 11, on the seat frame, rest in a concave portion 10b on the support, simultaneously axis 8 moves to the rear of axis 7 and the backrest frame 1 is moved into its upright folded position. The backrest is guided during such movement by rollers (19), Fig. 3 (not shown) fixed at the end of the backrest moving in slots (16) formed on the support.
