Axle structures.-A temporary axle structure adapted to be fitted to the axle housing when the end of the driving and supporting axle is broken to enable the vehicle to be towed home comprises a tubular member d<1>, which fits into the axle casing a and supports a wheel i having a brake drum f<4>. The member d<1> is secured by means of a screw e passed through the lubricating hole c, and is reduced to take a hub f which is fitted with the brake drum and to which a spare wheel of standard size is bolted. The hub is retained in position by a collar g and pin h. A cap k which may contain lubricant is secured to the hub f.
