Abstract
1295098 Electro-erosion RCF SpA 19 May 1970 [20 May 1969] 25602/69 Heading B3V A spark erosion machine includes a gantry 1 which carries an electrode platen 11 symmetrically disposed about the gantry's central vertical axis and which is horizontally movable relative to a work tank 2. In one embodiment, two gantries 1 are movable by motor-driven chains 5 along rails 4 from the dotted line inoperative position to the full line position above the tank 2. The wheels 3 of the gantries 1 may be raised by jacks to enable frusto-conical locking members (8 and 9) (Fig. 4, not shown), on a foundation 7 and the gantries 1 respectively to interengage. Each gantry 1 is clamped to the foundation 7 by turning a handle 8A which raises hooks 6A under projections 7A of the foundation 7. Each electrode platen 11 is secured to a head frame 12 which is vertically movable relative to the gantry 1 by an hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly 13, 14. The head frame 12 may be locked in an upper position by a spring-biased pin 16. The electrode platen 11 is rotatable with respect to the head frame 12. A dielectric is pumped from a reservoir 24 to the work tank 2 which is divided into compartments by partitions 21.
