Abstract

1,174,697. Counterweights for Jib cranes. RUSTON-BUCYRUS Ltd. 18 April, 1968 [5 May, 1967], No. 18355/68. Heading B8B. The counterweight 6, Fig. 1, of a mobile crane is attached to the revolving frame 4 by removable hangers 14, Fig. 3, so that the latter do not prevent rotation of the crane despite the fact that the counterweight is lowered by a small amount only. A pair of hangers is provided and their cross-pieces 17 slide under pairs of heaters bolted in grooves 9. When the counterweight is raised into its operative position by rams 21, Fig. 1, holes 14, Fig. 3, are aligned with holes 19 in lugs 18 attached to the frame 4, so that a retaining pin 20 may be inserted.
