Propeller shafts, arrangement of rudders.- In vertically - adjustable propelling and steering mechanism for a shallowdraught vessel, the rudder post c is mounted in a fixed bracket d and a movable bracket c adjustable by rack - andpinion gearing m, n in guides l on the stern of the vessel. The bearing n for the tail end of the propeller shaft is carried on the rudder post, as shown. Universal joints t, v are provided at the end of the adjustable section r of the propeller shaft.
