Detachable propelling-installations; rudders; steering-gear.-The detachable propelling-installation has a vertical arm which carries a propeller block adapted to be rotated by worm gearing for steering purposes. The engine is connected with the driving-shaft by a clutch, and the whole installation is supported on a frame carried by trunnions so that the propeller can be swung up out of the water. The motor a drives the shaft e through a clutch f, power being transmitted to the propeller shaft through gearing and a shaft i. The shaft i rotates in a tube l adapted to be rotated through worm gearing m, n from the steering- wheel o and carrying at the lower end a block d supporting the propeller and having an integral rudder. The wheel o is provided with a pointer which indicates the direction of the rudder. The frame b carrying the installation has trunnions seated in bearings s secured to the boat, so that the propeller can be raised out of the water on tilting the frame, when the holding-straps are released.
