Abstract
1294075 Papermaking BELOIT CORP 8 Jan 1970 [13 Feb 1969] 1022/70 Heading D2A A paper-making machine comprises a slice, first and second wire guides defining between them a narrow gap, third and fourth wire guides spaced successively downstream from the gap, first and second opposed forming wire runs arranged to travel over the first and second guides respectively through initially close spacing, to receive the stock stream, over the third and fourth guides, the third guide having a curved smooth stationary surface pressing on one of the wire runs, the opposed wire run being free from restraint, the third guide guiding the two wires through a curve and away from the stock-stream direction. The fourth guide may be a roll, and may be followed by a fifth guide which is a line of suction boxes which extends horizontally, vertically, or at an angle. A foil may be arranged between the third and fourth guides.
