Abstract

1293108 Reactors HOCHTEMPERATUR REAKTORBAU GmbH 17 Aug 1971 [17 Aug 1970] 38558/71 Heading G6C [Also in Division B8] In a pebble-bed nuclear reactor, spherical fuel elements are transferred to and from the core through tubes. The inner wall, 4, of the tube 1 is provided with ribs, 2, which space the fuel spheres 3 away from the inner wall. The conveyer gas flows more uniformly round the fuel elements and rotation of the spheres is reduced by the low friction forces at the contact points of the spheres and the ribs.
