Abstract
859,072. Nuclear reactors. JACOBSEN, J. B. Feb. 10, 1959, No. 4676/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(4). The pressure vessel of a nuclear reactor is formed of three concentric steel shells. The shells are spaced apart and the separation filled with a ductile material such as lead or tin. Each shell is formed of cast segments welded together. The construction produces an even distribution of stress throughout the shells.
