Abstract
888,771. Making pressure vessels; welding by fusion. THOMPSON (WOLVERHAMPTON) Ltd., JOHN. Dec. 10, 1958 [Dec. 10, 1957], No. 38428/57. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). A pressure vessel consists of a cylindrical body 1, at least one domed end 3 of lesser wall thickness and a concentric annulus 2 the ends of which are welded to the adjacent ends of the body 1 and the domed end 3. The annulus 2 is tapered. The body 1 and the domed end 3 may be either a single plate or a relatively thick supporting plate 4, 15 having superimposed laminations 5, 16 welded to the annulus 2 as described in Specification 888,770.
