Abstract

1291267 Press brakes R FRITSCH 6 Oct 1969 [6 Dec 1968] 48972/69 Heading B3E A press brake comprises a frame 10, a bed 11 mounted on the frame, a ram 12 slidably mounted in the frame for movement in a vertical plane towards the bed, a pair of mechanical linkages 13 for connecting the ram to the frame, each mechanical linkage comprising a lever 14 pivotally mounted on the frame and a link 16 pivotally connecting the lever to the ram, a bar 17 interconnecting the two levers and a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder 18 for pivoting the levers simultaneously to ensure parallel movement of the ram towards the bed. Adjusting wedges 21 located on the frame enable the bed to be tilted if desired. Each wedge comprises members 22 and 24 adjustable by a bolt 28 (Fig. 5).
