Abstract

1291117 Yarn winding apparatus ERNEST SCRAGG & SONS Ltd 7 May 1970 [15 May 1969 5 June 1969] 24846/69 and 28453/69 Heading D1J [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] A textile winding machine, having a vacuum line with apertures in it, camprises a flexible tube into which a yarn end can be sucked, the flexible tube having a connector at one end, the connector having a portion or portions adapted to embrace the line to retain the flexible tube in position, the portion or one of the portions having a hole in it to register with the vacuum line apertures, the hole leading to the flexible tube, and at least the portion having the hole in it, having a lining of elastomeric sealing material around the hole As shown the connector is a clamp comprising parts 14, 15 hinged at 16 and joined at 17 by a toggle clip. The clamp is lined with a foamed elastomer 18 to provide a seal around the vacuum line and around a hole in the portion 14. A rigid tube 19 has one end fitting into and beyond said hole, and its other end fitting into the flexible tube 10. The drawing accompanying Provisional Specification No. 28453 of 1969 shows a similar construction except that the parts 14, 15 are replaced by a C-shaped spring clip that is a push fit onto the vacuum line.
