Abstract

1288350 Carburetters TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO K K 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 26945/71 Heading F1B A carburetter comprises a fuel chamber 2, a discharge nozzle 5, a first fuel line extending from the fuel chamber to the discharge nozzle an acceleration pump 4 in the first fuel line for delivering fuel from the chamber to the discharge nozzle, a second fuel line 6 extending from the fuel chamber to the first fuel line on the downstream side of the acceleration pump, valve means 11 connected to open and close the second fuel line and temperature responsive valve operator means (bimetallic element) 7 connected to the valve means for opening it when the engine temperature is above a predetermined amount, whereby a portion of the fuel handled by the acceleration pump is delivered back to the fuel chamber through the second fuel line to thereby reduce the fuel air ratio of the mixture produced by the carburetter, the temperature responsive valve operator means closing the valve means when the engine temperature is below a predetermined amount whereby all the fuel handled by the acceleration pump is delivered to the discharge nozzle. The bimetallic element 7 may be located outside of the fuel chamber and connected to the valve means 11 by a linkage. The valve means 11 may be controlled in conjunction with the heat sensitive element of the automatic choke.
