Abstract

1288289 Discharging laundry articles from an endless conveyer and transfer to other conveyers VSESOJUZNY PROEKTNO-KONSTRUKTORSKY INSTITUT SVAROCHNOGO PROIZVODSTVA 5 Dec 1969 59581/69 Addition to 1274331 Heading B8A A single article of washing is deposited in each carrier 3 of an endless conveyer. The article is scanned by a T.V. camera 13, the scanning movement of which is brought about by engagement of a part of the carrier 3 with a follower on the end of an arm 5. In response to the picture received on the T.V. screen 14, an operator of keying control unit 9 causes a lever 46 appropriate to the desired discharge station, to be raised. The latter brings about the deflection of the carrier so as to tip the article on to a selected delivery platform 4. The level of washing on each platform is sensed by a feeler 32 as described in the parent Specification. At a given stage of filling of the bunkers, conveyer 7 is operated so that carriers 8 are brought into registration with carriers 2 of shelves 3. The carriers 8 are moved parallel with the carriers 2 by the action of a motor 30 (Fig. 1, not shown) and they are moved laterally on rails 16. They are guided by members 25 engaging guides (27), (28), (Fig. 3, not shown), on the carriers 8. Exact registration is provided by members (29). A signal is then generated and transmitted to a series of solenoids 43. These rotate cams 40 each of which operates on a cam-shaft 42 and thereby displaces a push rod 41 into the path of movement of a lever 36 of the mechanism which lowers the platforms 4 in response to the height of the laundry articles as described in the parent Application. This has the effect of simulating a high stack of articles on all of the platforms 4 and in consequence all of the latter are lowered to their maximum extent. Lateral movement of the conveyer 7 then effects discharge of the articles on the platforms 4, on to the carriers 8.
