Abstract
1288164 Heating buildings; radiators GKN BUILDING SUPPLIES & SERVICES Ltd 19 April 1971 [18 Feb 1970] 7671/70 Headings F4U and F4S A hot water central heating system for buildings comprises a water heater, circulating means, and a water circuit connecting the heater and radiators 10, each of which is disposed adjacent to but spaced from a wall or other surface for the positioning of a heat exchanger 11 therebetween which is supplied with the heated water prior to its introduction into the associated radiator. The heat exchanger comprises a bank of two or more finned, horizontal tubes which are inter connected at their ends by pipes 15 to form a single, downwardly flowing path for the water. A duct may be formed between the radiator, wall or surface and two wing-like side panels 19 on the radiator for convective flow of air therethrough.
