1287297 Tables combined with chairs GODFREY-SYRETT Ltd 19 Oct 1970 [27 Oct 1969] 52482/69 Headings A4H A4J [Also in Division B7] A tray 32 is mounted across a chair by brackets 14, 16, each bracket including a downwardly extending stem 18 or 34 that fits into a bore in an insert 10 or 12 in a front leg 2 or 4 of the chair and a bored block 22 or 36 provided with a horizontal sleeve 24 or 38, and the tray including rods 26, 40 secured thereto by brackets 28 and longitudinally slideable and rotable in the sleeves 24, 38, the rods 26, 40 being locked in the sleeves 24, 38 by screws 30. The tray can be displaced to an inoperative depending position to one side of the chair Fig.4 (not shown) by releasing screws 30, pivoting the tray about the axis of sleeve 24 until the stem 34 is withdrawn from the insert 12, rotating the tray anticlockwise about the axis of stem 18 through 180 degrees, and then pivoting the tray downwardly about the axis 24. Stems 18, 34 are locked in the inserts 10, 12 by screws 42, one screw 42 engaging a peripheral recess in stem 18 during rotation. A foot rest 50 extends between angle supports 44 secured at their upper ends by a bar 48, and the foot rest 50 can be displaced to an inoperative position beneath the chair (shown dotted) by lifting it forwardly and upwardly so that bar 48 pivots about its axis and slides rearwardly in downwardly inclined channels 54. A pair of opposed headrest members 66 each have a bar 68 vertically slideable in a bracket 64 slideably transversely of the chair on a common bar 62 secured to the chair. Each member 66 is secured in its adjusted positions by screws 74, 67. The chair also includes swivel castors 52, 78, one of which has a brake, and fixed castors 76. The chair has a push bar 80 and hand-grips 82.
