Abstract

1286331 Packaging flat articles HOLLER GmbH GEB 22 Aug 1969 [24 Aug 1968] 41957/69 Heading B8C An apparatus for collecting and packaging a plurality of flat objects, e.g. bags b which are substantially flat in a filled condition, comprises an endless belt 1 having spaced walls 4 projecting normally to the belt and a feed arrangement for feeding the bags between that pair of walls 4 which are angled outwardly by the belt passing over a roller 2. When the compartment defined by the angled walls 4 has been filled the belt moves forward one compartment causing the bags to rest on their edges and to be held by the now parallel walls 4. At the end of five steps of the belt a comb shaped pusher 11 pushes the bags in five adjacent compartments off the belt along a guide trough 10 into a carton f. The feed arrangement comprises a conveying path 6 which feeds bags directly on to a horizontal wall 4 of the belt and a conveying path 7 which feeds bags to a platform 8 from which they are pushed on to the horizontal wall 4 by a pusher 9.
