Abstract

1285860 Polymer compositions and interreaction products RICOH KK 12 June 1969 [9 Sept 1968] 7274/72 Divided out of 1280882 Heading C3P [Also in Division H1] A polymer comprises the reaction product of a vinyl polymer, a polymer having an urethane bond and a water-soluble amino resin. In the specific embodiments a mixture of partialmethylolurethane polyvinyl alcohol, an acrylic resin or polyvinyl acetate, a urea or melamine formaldehyde resin or an acrylic ester resin and optionally an emulsion prepared from the polymerization of methyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, acrylamide and glycidyl methacrylate or methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and hydroxyethyl acrylate together with ammonium chloride in water, is coated on a paper support and dried at 140‹ C. The examples also disclose an electrically conductive polymeric composition made from partial-methylolurethane polyvinyl alcohol, urea-formaldehyde resin and/or an acrylic resin and polyvinylbenzyltrimethylammonium chloride and optionally including ammonium chloride, clay and sodium hexametaphosphate.
