1280882 Polyvinyl alcohol glyoxal condensation products; gelatine derivatives RICOH KK 12 June 1969 [12 Oct 1968] 29878/69 Headings C3H and C3P [Also in Division H1] A polymer comprises the reaction product of glyoxal with a polyhydroxy compound or a water-soluble protein. In the specific embodiment a polymer is formed from a mixture of glyoxal and polyvinyl alcohol in the presence of an acrylic resin latex or copolymaleic anhydride -vinyl methyl ether and optionally gelatine in water, which is coated on a support and dried at 120-130‹ C.
