Abstract

1285758 Door stop; stay CITROEN SA (AUTOMOBILES CITROEN BERLIET PANHARD) 22 Aug 1969 [6 Sept 1968] 42108/69 Heading E2F A door stop installation comprises an arm having one end pivoted to a door post about an axis parallel to and spaced laterally from a door hinge axis, and carrying on its other end a finger movable in a slot in a plate attached to the door, the slot extending towards the hinge axis adjacent which it forks into two extensions, one extension curving towards the door, the other extension extending away from and substantially perpendicular to the door. In the installation shown, the pivotal opening of door 1 causes finger 11 on pivoted arm 5 to move along slot 8 in door plate 7. Slot extension 10 moves about door hinge pin 2 along path 21, and finger 11 moves about arm pivot pin 6 along path 20. At point 11c, where the paths cross, spring 13 urges finger 11 into extension 10 to lock the door. To open the door further, arm 5 is pressed to move finger 11 back into slot 8, the dooropening movement causing finger 11 to advance and retreat along slot extension 9 until again urged into extension 10 at position 11e, where the paths re-cross. To close the door, arm 5 is pressed to move finger 11 back into slot 8, the plate portion 19 preventing the finger reentering extension 10 during door-closing movement.
