Abstract
1285625 Coating with metals F HECK 29 Aug 1969 43062/69 Heading C7F A metal, e.g. brass article is coated with solder by heating to a temperature above the melting point of the solder, immersing in an aqueous suspension of flux and solder, and after removal from the suspension, heating to a temperature above the melting point of the solder. The coating may be remelted to get a smooth surface. The solder may be 90% Pb-10% Sn or 63% Sn-37% Pb, and it may include Cd. The flux may be zinc, sodium, ammonium or stannous chlorides. The suspension may include powdered Ni, Cu or Fe. Further layers of tin or tin and lead may be fused on to the solder coating. The suspension may also be heated to at most 20‹ C. below the melting point of the solder.
