Abstract

1285106 Tuning ignition NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 15 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 48989/70 Heading F1B An ignition system for an internal-combustion engine comprises an ignition timing change-over device including first and second normally closed relay switched 29, 30 connected in series with each other between a retarding breaker contact 22 and the primary side 26 of an ignition coil 12 and each having a respective solenoid coil 31, 32, the solenoid coil 31 of the first named relay switch being connected to the D.C. voltage source 10 via a starting switch 33 for being energized to open the first mentioned relay switch during the starting operation of the engine. A thermostatically controlled switch 35 is connected between the solenoid coil 32 of the second mentioned relay switch and the voltage source and a bi-metal member 41 is adapted for sensing the engine temperature and for opening the thermostatically controlled switch to de-energize the solenoid coil of the secondmentioned relay switch whereby an ignition advance is effected during the starting and warm up operation of the engine.
