Abstract

1283034 Stud and socket fastenings MULTI-STROKE HANDBRAKE CONTROLS Ltd 8 Aug 1969 [10 Aug 1968] 38317/68 Heading E2B A locating and locking device for fitting to a freight container transport vehicle comprises a container locating body 2 above the top of which projects a head 3a of a rotary fastening bolt 3 mounted in the body, the bolt being rotatable manually between a central releasing position and either of two side fastening positions by a projecting handle 13. A spring loaded plunger 14 is mounted in the body and is engageable with each of three recesses in a collar 12 which moves with the bolt, engagement of the plunger in one of the recesses locking the bolt in the corresponding one of the positions. A rear flat surface of the body 2 is engageable by a corner casting of the container to locate the container on the vehicle. The body being retained in positions by engaging formations on a bolt housing back plate 5 releasably maintained by a rib 10 which projects from a rotary locking shaft 8 which turns in side plates 6 of the bolt housing and extends in front of the body 2. The plunger 14 partially engages in one of the recesses on the upper surface of the collar 12 and it is releasable by manually pressing upwards against spring pressure.
