Abstract

1282574 Agricultural pick-up vehicle C VAN DER LELY NV 21 Nov 1969 [27 Nov 1968] 57217/69 Heading B8E Cut crop is picked up from the ground by tines 7, Fig. 2, and passed to tines 11, Figs. 2, 3, which rotate about their own axes to wind the crop into bundles and also follow a path 42 in an anticlockwise direction to feed the bundles to an endless conveyer 2 in the floor of a vehicle 1. The tines 11 are interconnected by sprockets 12, Fig. 3, and are rotated by sprockets 33, 31, 29 and shafts 32, 28, 25. The other movement of the tines is produced by sprockets 15, 16 in which a beam 10 which supports the tines is eccentrically journalled. In a second embodiment, Fig. 5, the bundles are formed by a single tine 50 which moves in a similar fashion to the tines 11 and is fed by a pair of screw conveyers 67, 68. In a further embodiment, Figs. 7, 8, two sets of horizontally disposed tines 80, 86; 87, 88, are moved by an endless chain 81 and rotated by a rack 85 which engages sprockets 84 on the tines as they move inwards towards the loading space. The bundles are removed from the tines by converging guides 94, Fig. 7.
