Abstract

1281837 Spot-light H NIETHAMMER 15 Oct 1969 [24 Oct 1968] 50585/69 Heading F4R A spot-light is provided with a support for its optical system to maintain the alignment of the system. The spot-light has a two-part plastic housing 10, 12 having vents at the top and bottom and contains two rods 78 (80) having sleeves 82 (84) thereon on which are mounted a holder 70 for a quartz-halogen source 60, a reflector 62 and lenses 64, 66. The lenses, reflector and holder are all movable along the sleeves 82 (84) but may be moved as a unit along the rods 78 (80) by loosening a knob (88, Fig. 4, not shown) and sliding the knob along a slot (90) in the lower housing part 10. The two parts of the housing are held together by resilient clips 22 and an objective lens 24 is provided at the front of the housing. In another embodiment (Fig. 7 to 9, not shown) four coloured filters are provided which are moved by means of rotary magnets and a third lens (100) is used. The quartz-halogen lamp may be replaced by a gas-discharge lamp. A knob 40 locks the spot-light at a given angle. The height of the spot-light is adjusted by loosening knob 52 and pulling the telescopic arm 36 out of 44.
