An electric spot-light comprises, in a housing 1, a chassis 2 on which is mounted a lamp holder, a reflector 7 movable in its axial direction relative to the lamp holder, a lens unit 4 at the front of the chassis, and adjustment screws 18 located at the front of the chassis effecting an axial adjustment of the reflector without removing the lens unit. A beam shaping aperture unit is provided between the reflector and the lens unit and comprises sliding shutter plates 11 frictionally held by leaf springs 12 between fixed plates 8, 9. In an alternative arrangement, the chassis is connected to the housing by means of pivots or trunnions to allow rotation of the lamp.
