Abstract

1281801 Spiked plates W VISICK & SONS Ltd 12 Jan 1971 1449/71 Heading F2H A connector plate, e.g. of galvanized steel, comprises at least one group of nail-like teeth 1 struck out therefrom and at least one group of indentations 2 which pierce the plate, the groups being separate from one another. The indentations 2 are enlarged when nails 13 are driven through them, the edges 5<SP>1</SP> of the indentations being forced into the wood or other material receiving the nail. The teeth or indentations in a group are irregularly located to reduce the risk of cleavage or splitting of the materials being joined. Various shapes of flat plates or brackets and group locations are described- (Figs. 6-10, not shown).
