[Also in Divisions E1 and F2] A wooden component 26 of a structure (e.g. of a triangular truss or a lattice beam) is reinforced by a metal strip 20 which has teeth 21, which may be punched out, projecting at right angles therefrom and embedded in the component, the strip extending over the greater part of the length of the component, at least one shorter perforated strip 27 being interposed between the component and the strip 20 with the teeth 21 penetrating its perforations. Two strips 20 may be used side-by-side on one face of the component. Two or more perforated strips 27 may be used in face-to-face contact.
