Abstract

1307688 Reinforced wood floor or roof decking S W LINDAL 2 Nov 1970 [30 Jan 1970] 52069/70 Heading E1W A floor or roof decking is formed by a plurality of longitudinally extending wood boards I in parallel side by side relation held in upwardly bowed configuration by metal strips 4 which engage punched out spikes into the adjacent parallel faces of the boards. The decking may take the form of panels in which the outermost boards 2, 3 are provided respectively with a tongue and a groove. The metal strips may be tensioned prior to the fixing of adjacent bowed boards. Boards may be provided with more than one bowed portion secured by a longer strip when they are supported on more than two joists.
