Abstract

1308887 Nails OMARK INDUSTRIES Inc 10 Dec 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 57473/71 Heading F2H A nail to be driven into a laminate of fibrou (wood) and solid granular (concrete) materials by an explosively actuated tool comprises a shaft 30 with a head 26 at one end and a point 32 at the other, the point projecting beyond a shoulder 34 which crushes the fibrous material round the split made by the point 32 as the nail is driven through the fibrous material, to prevent the split extending. The diameter of the point base is half the shaft diameter at the shoulder.
