Abstract
1281234 Knitting-machines; looms REINHARD SCHULTE GmbH 23 July 1969 37110/69 Heading D1C Tubular knitted fabric as it is withdrawn and taken up on the take-up rollers of a knitting machine is sprayed to coat it with a desired finish and the finished coating is set by subsequently applying heat to the fabric. As described the surface of a fibre pile fabric produced on a machine having a number of fibre feeding carding heads 3 is sprayed with a suitable coating from nozzles 9 as the fabric is discharged from the machine and drawn over tensioning rings 6, 7. Infra-red heater units 10 apply heat to the fabric after it has been coated and a suitable reflector 11 is positioned within the fabric tube opposite the heaters. An extraction hood 13 is positioned above the machine.
