Abstract

1277553 Ignition systems ATES COMPONENTI ELETTRONICI SpA 19 April 1971 [13 March 1970| 24152/71 Heading F1B The invention relates to an electronic ignition system comprising a transistorized monostable blocking oscillator Ob controlled by a contact P operated by an engine. When the oscillator produces an output current pulse energy is stored in a transformer Tr and when the oscillator is cut off this energy is transferred to a storage capacitor C4. A thyristor D4 is operated at the frequency of oscillation of the blocking oscillator and is arranged to central the discharge of the capacitor through a high tension transformer THT which provides a high voltage for the sparking plugs. The invention comprises a triggering circuit for the thyrister connected in common with the control circuit of the transistor of the blocking oscillator to the feedback winding Nf of the blocking oscillator and a diode D2 and a resistor R3 in parallel are provided to protect the transistor and thyristor against excessive reverse voltages.
