Abstract

1276963 Valves DESA INDUSTRIES Inc 26 Oct 1970 [10 Nov 1969 25 Aug 1970] 50764/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division F1] A concrete pump has a valve assembly comprising an arcuate blade 35 pivotally mounted at 39 and hydraulically-actuated to swing into and out of sealing housings 31, 33 on the inlet and outlet conduits 20, 21, to close and open the conduits in synchronism with movement of the pump piston 25. In the embodiment shown, the sealing housings each have a replaceable U-shaped hardened steel liner 84, Fig. 4, a sealing gasket 87, and an oil pad 96 supplied with oil from the hydraulic actuating system to lubricate the blade 35. The pump piston is hydraulically actuated by piston 27, the movements of the valve and pump actuators being synchronized by pilot valves operated at the end of the valve and piston movements, Figs. I and 13 (not shown). In Fig. 16 (not shown), the sealing pressure of the sealing gasket is adjustable.
