1276619 Non-refillable bottle fitments; tamperproof closures N R FITMENTS Ltd 28 July 1970 [5 Jan 1970] 36551/70 Divided out of 519/70 Headings B8D and B8T In a polystyrene non-refillable bottle fitment wherein a screw cap 7, when screwed to the upper part of a two-part housing 5 and 6, engages the stem of a guard member 18 to urge the latter against a non-return valve member 13 and force the valve member against its seat 10, the rim 22 of the cap is retained on the bottle neck by a spun or crimped aluminium sleeve 2 and is joined to the remainder of the cap by circumferentially-spaced frangible portions 23. The sleeve prevents removal of the cap without breaking away of the cap rim. The head 18a of the guard member may seat, in the closed position of the valve member, against housing seating 21 to form a supplementary valve.
