Abstract
1275985 Super-conductors KABEL-UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNG-SHUTTE AG 12 Nov 1969 [30 Nov 1968] 55321/69 Headings H1A A5 and A4D A conductor comprises a strip of superconductor material formed longitudinally into a tube which is mounted on one or more carrier bodies. A strip of super-conductor material is bent round a Cu wire, the edges of the strip are butt welded together and the assembly is drawn down to secure the lamina to the wire, Fig. 1 (not shown). Alternatively the wire may be replaced by a plastics core, the assembly being heated after joining the edges of the lamina to adhesively bond the lamina to the core. A strip of super-conductor material is bent round to form a tube and a plastics layer is extruded on to the outisde to form a support, Fig. 2 (not shown). In use the refrigerant flows inside the tube.
