Abstract

1275569 Confining waste products in industrial processes; air curtains; drying by air streams NIHON KUKI SOCHI KK 20 Aug 1969 [13 Jan 1969 (2) 4 Feb 1969 13 Feb 1969] 41483/69 Headings F4G F4V and F4X Apparatus for confining gaseous contaminants within or excluding such gases from a zone 8 comprises an air supply opening 18, the air flow 7 therefrom forming an air curtain encircling the zone 8, and being exhausted by a fan 22 through a duct 23 and an air supply opening 19, the laminar air flow therefrom passing through the zone 8 and being exhausted by a fan 26 through a duct 27 and air cleaner 28. The direction of the air flows may be reversed and the air flow through the zone 8 may be recirculated. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the apparatus is utilized as a working zone for applying rubber layers to a roller. The air flows are exhausted through common damper controlled ducts in the floor. The air supply duct to the openings 18, 19 includes a filter. After treatment in the zone 8, the roller on a carrier is moved into a drying chamber in which dried air is passed downwardly in a laminar flow over the roller and exhausted through an underground conduit.
