Abstract
1275536 Dental implants H D ROBERTS 18 March 1971 7237/71 Heading ASR A dental implant comprises a flat body portion 10 converging to a tip 14 at one end and having an integral post 11 extending up from the other end, the angle between the post and the upper edge of the body portion being substantially not greater than 90‹. The implant is applied by driving the body portion into the ramus of the jawbone, the post 11 extending above the epithelium to receive an artificial tooth. The body portion is preferably provided with a plurality of lateral holes 18, and a pointed lip 15 at the end remote from tip 14. The body portion preferably has side faces which are concave in transverse cross-section. The body portion has a length of at least 30mm., a depth not exceeding 6mm., and a width of approximately 2mm.
