Abstract

1332686 Dental implants J SCIALOM 15 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 49122/70 Heading B3A [Also in Division A5] Self-drilling dental implants of diameter between 0À3 and 1 mm. are formed with grooves 4 by impressing a metal wire in the direction f 1 . This has the effect of upsetting the metal between two successive grooves in the direction f 2 to form projecting portions between the grooves. Cutting portion 2 is formed by obliquely cutting body 1 using, e.g. a grinding wheel. The implants are made of stainless steel when intended to be driven into the dentine, and of tantalum, titanium, or zirconium and alloys thereof when driven into the bone.
