Abstract

1,274,435. Cartons. SVENSK INDUSTRIS KONSTRUKTIONS - OCH BERAKNINGSKONTOR SIKOB A.B. 9 June, 1970 [12 June, 1969; 17 Oct., 1969], No. 27816/70. Heading B8P. To enable a tubular carton having its ends closed by flaps to be made from a strip of material with a minimum of waste material, end flaps 7, 8 are cut from one side and folded outwardly and downwardly over the open ends of the tubular body. If the body has a top side of double thickness the under thickness 2 forms a closed top. Alternatively a plastics sheet, which may be in the form of a bag (14, Fig. 5) may be provided on the inside of the body. The end flaps 7, 8 have flanges 9, 10 and may also have flanges on each end. These flanges may be tucked inside the body or secured together so that each flap 7, 8 forms a pivoted flanged cap. The flanges may have dove-tail shaped extensions thereon engaging slits in the body. The sheet 2 can form a hinged lid. One end of the body can be extended and folded to form partitions 15, which alternatively may be vertical. The side walls may be of double thickness for increased strength.
