Abstract

1,274,102. Scoop-arm machines. POCLAIN. 12 Aug., 1969 [5 Sept., 1968], No. 40290/69. Heading E1F. An earthworking machine comprises an earthworking implement 11 pivotally connected to a pivotally mounted jib 1 by two pairs of arms 5, 6 and. 13, 14 which form a deformable quadrilateral operated by rams 7, 8. In a second embodiment, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the quadrilateral is connected to the jib by a member which is pivotable in a vertical plane by a ram. In a third embodiment, Figs. 5, 6 and 7 (not shown), which is similar to that shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the arms 5, 6 are shorter than the arms 13, 14. More than one deformable quadrilateral may be provided.
