Abstract

1,273,866. Coils. LANDIS & GYR A.G. 22 Sept., 1970 [29 Dec., 1969], No. 45118/70. Heading H1P. Annular insulating coil container (Fig. 1) comprises inner and outer cylindrical walls mechanically connected at one end and open at the other for introduction of a coil former after winding; the former being made of extruded thermoplastic and comprising (Fig. 2) apertured flanges 3, 10 joined by plural webs 11 to 14, which is supported on a two part mandrel for coil winding. After winding it is inserted in the container, which is filled with casting resin. Recessed lugs 5, 6 contain soldering tags or sockets for connection to the windings. Alternatively the wound former may be enclosed in compressed or extruded thermoplastic in a mould.
