Abstract

Rope railways.-A suspended rope track having the tensioned ropes held at tensioning-posts is provided with intermediate supporting-posts to which the rope is secured by means of clamping- devices. Fig. 1 shows the saddle portion 1 with a central depression 3 into which the rope 4 is forced by an adjustable clamping-plate 5 or hook having a screwed shank held by a nut 8. The plate is formed to hold the rope in the depression 3 and to form a smooth running surface 9. At tensioning-posts, the ropes may be similarly held and a running surface thus formed, the ends of the ropes being fixed under additional clamps 17 or to the post itself, in some cases the ropes acting as guys. The invention is stated to be particularly applicable to such ropeways as are de,- scribed in Specifications 16428/97 and 24367/05.
