27,151. Thunhart, T. Dec. 27,1912, [Convention date]. Rope railways.-Ropeways comprise two groups of carrying-ropes between which the car hangs with its centre of gravity below the ropes. The ropes 1 are continuous and pass over, but are not secured to, the supports to which may be secured a guiderail 14, which supports a car free from the ropes without deflecting them, enabling the ropes to move along their supports. Segment rails 7 at each support may carry rollers 9 which are grooved to receive rotatable rims 11 on which the ropes rest. A single rope pulley may be used in place of the rim 11 and rollers 9, or the rim 11 may be omitted and the rollers 9 placed closer, with grooves for the ropes 11. The diameter of the rim or pulley is preferably greater than the height of the car.
