Abstract

1,273,366. Self-loading pistols. HECKLER & KOCH G.m.b.H. 15 Sept., 1969 [18 Sept., 1968], No. 45380/69. Heading F3C. A self-loading pistol comprises a trigger assembly adjusted to be moved selectively from a single shot firing position to a continuous firing position and vice versa, a hand grip 2 and a shoulder support 4 adjusted to be releasably attached to the hand grip 2. The shoulder support 4 is provided with a selector 34 which, when the shoulder support 4 is attached to the hand grip 2 cooperates with the trigger assembly to urge the same to its continuous firing position, the trigger assembly being normally in its single shot firing position. The selector 34 may be retracted against its spring loading wiile the support 4 is still attached to the grip 2 by a lever mounted on the support 4 (Fig. 1, not shown) through a pin 39. The trigger assembly comprises a seer 16 transversely displaceable between a pair of trigger rods 15 which seer when actuated in the trigger assembly single shot condition is urged rearwardly into engagement with and to retract a firing pin 22. An inclined surface of the seer then contacts a pin 14 such that the seer is moved transversely against its spring loading to release the firing pin 22. In the trigger assembly continuous firing condition the seer is held in its retracted position on actuation of the trigger and the firing pin 22 comes under the control of a projection 30 of a continuous fire catch pawl 24 (Fig. 3, not shown). The catch pawl 24 is urged to its operative position by spring loading after the restraint of a spring loaded selector rod 26 has been relieved by actuation thereof by the selector 34. The shoulder support is hollow and may be used as a holster for the pistol (Fig. 1, not shown) and the attaching means comprises two pairs of telescoping members 9, 10.
